James Andrew Harris:
Informational:
James Andrew Harris was born on March 26th 1932 in Waco, Texas. He went to college at Houston-Tillotston and received a degree in chemistry. Following his graduation, he worked in Lawrence Berkeley Laboratories, where he was the one of the only employees without a PHD. Regardless, he was appointed head of engineering. While working there, several new man-made elements were produced by bombarding one element with another. He worked closely with the discoveries of elements 104 and 105, Rutherfordium, and Hahnium. He was given an honorary doctorate for his work.
Impact of his research:
With all the discoveries of new elements, Rutherfordium and Hahnium wouldn’t have been discovered, and neither would the elements after it.
